These works are heavy with paint, coming out from the flat surface and taking on a relief effect. These are the most enjoyable to do. I have between two to five paintings spread around me in different stages of completion, and I work on each for a short time- adding color with a knife for the background in one, and working out of a gouache paint nozzle in another to get the form and shades of the subject.
